Jump in, it's Lovely and Warm!

Work for us

If you'd like to join our team, we'd love to hear from you.

Currently, none of our positions are for full time staff, but we have positions in the following areas:

  • Ski and snowboard instructors
  • Language tuition and writing
  • Fitness coaching and writing
  • Website development
This is an English language website and we have mostly British clients so we expect all candidates to have excellent written and spoken English. We won't discriminate against you if English is not your first language as long as you still meet our high standards - currently two of our team speak English as a second language.

All of our staff must have excellent customer service skills and appropriate qualifications for their position.

For all positions you will be required to submit a CV and covering letter explaining why you'd like to work for us, and telling us about your relevant work experience.

We value diversity, and do not discriminate on the basis of age, race, gender, religion, sexual preference or any other protected group.

Ski and Snowboard Instructors

We expect all of our instructors not only to teach lessons but also to contribute written content for our website - our aim is to be the best place on the internet to go for all snow sports information and to that end we need qualified instructors to write our content for us. In writing content for us, you prove that you know your stuff and that we can trust you to teach our clients the correct things.

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Teaching experience
  • Customer service experience
  • You must have a full BASI level 1 licence or higher (or equivalent qualification from a foreign examining body)
  • First Aid
  • CRB
  • Child Protection
  • Able to discuss ski and/or snowboard theory with in-depth knowledge
  • Able to discuss teaching theory with in-depth knowledge
  • Able to demonstrate all stages of the central theme
  • Have your own teaching insurance (we will also arrange insurance, but this additional safety net is essential)
You can also score some bonus points - these are nice to have but not essential:
  • Examples of written work, such as a personal blog
  • Further teaching qualifications (such as PGCE)
  • Second discipline (e.g. you are a ski instructor who can do some snowboarding too)
  • Adaptive skiing qualifications
  • Additional qualifications in any area beyond the central theme (e.g. racing, moguls, off-piste etc)

Language Tutors and Contributors

We would like to be able to provide in-person and video lessons and written content on how to speak foreign languages in a ski resort. Being able to speak the local language is not only a helpful skill for tourists, but is an essential requirement for the higher level teaching exams. We do not need you to be a qualified instructor or full time language teacher, but these would be a bonus! Since we'd like translations of ski and snowboard terminology, you do need to be fluent in a non-English language, and you do need to know your way around snow sport jargon.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Teaching experience
  • Customer service experience
  • If working directly with children, we will pay for the following for you:
    • Child protection
    • CRB
  • Ability to ski and/or snowboard to a reasonable level
  • Ability to discuss ski and/or snowboard theory to a reasonable level
  • Excellent written and spoken English (so you can explain things!)
  • Fluent in at least one "ski" language (i.e. it's great if you can speak other languages, but unless it's a language that's used in a ski resort it's not something we can use on our site. Typically we'd expect to see French, German, Spanish, Swedish etc)
You can also score some bonus points - these are nice to have but not essential:
  • Examples of written work, such as a personal blog
  • Further teaching qualifications (such as PGCE)
  • Advanced knowledge of skiing or snowboarding to a BASI Level 1 standard or thereabouts, or even instructor qualifications
  • A third, fourth, fifth language

Fitness Instructors and Contributors

A question we get asked quite often is what off-slope fitness routine is best for improving skiing. If we had a personal trainer working for us we could write about the best exercises to do when not on the slope, and also we'd be able to run fitness courses. If you are a qualified personal trainer then we'd really like to hear from you. We do need you to be able to ski and or snowboard so that you have a good understanding of what our clients are looking for.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Teaching experience
  • Customer service experience
  • If working directly with children, we will pay for the following for you:
    • Child protection
    • CRB
  • Personal training qualification(s)
  • Ability to ski and/or snowboard to a reasonable level
  • Ability to discuss ski and/or snowboard theory to a reasonable level
  • Excellent written and spoken English
You can also score some bonus points - these are nice to have but not essential:
  • Examples of written work, such as a personal blog
  • Further teaching qualifications (such as PGCE)
  • Advanced knowledge of skiing or snowboarding to a BASI Level 1 standard or thereabouts, or even instructor qualifications

Website Developers

It's hard to balance web development against writing content for the site - currently we use a T4 based system, which is obviously sub-optimal for anybody who knows their stuff. We'd love to be able to move to an MVC based platform with a better editing system, as well as coding an online shop and bookings system. If you can also program the website to make the tea, you're a shoe-in.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Programming experience, including:
    • MVC
    • HTML
    • CSS
    • jQuery
    • C#
    • Kiln DVCS
    • SQL Server
  • Customer service experience (for bug reports etc)
  • Excellent written and spoken English
You can also score some bonus points - these are nice to have but not essential:
  • Examples of your work, such as a personal programming blog or a website you've coded
  • Ability to ski or snowboard (if we hire you without these we'll give you a free lesson)
  • An appreciation of Joel Spolsky's blog
